Bristol Holiday Club at Torwood House School is a well-established playscheme for all children aged from 4 to 11 years.
We are based in our purpose built coach house in the grounds of Torwood House School and Nursery, and are open every day of the school holidays from 8.00am until 6.00pm.
Parents tell us that our popular holiday club is like a second home to their children during the holidays. The children love meeting up with their friends from Torwood as well as from other schools.
Children enjoy the relaxed atmosphere that gives them the opportunity to express themselves, be creative and keep active through a varied timetable of activities – see schedule for further information.
We are famous for our fabulous outings! Favourites include Avon Valley Country Park, Puxton Park, The Climbing Centre, Jump, Bristol Zoo, Hawks Gym, Cinema trip....in addition, we make the most of our local surroundings with frequent visits to local parks and other open spaces.
No need to provide a packed lunch...our catering department prepare fresh, nutritious meals and snacks which are all included with the daily fees.
Creative Arts and Crafts
Art and craft activities form a huge part of what we do at Torwood. Children have access to an enormous variety of art and craft materials to indulge their creativity. Painting, collage, junk modelling and Hama Beads are all very popular, and children come home at the end of the day laden with all their wonderful creations!
Mrs Holman, our Sports coach, has been teaching at Torwood for over 15 years and her enthusiasm for all she does is infectious. Holiday Club Sport Sessions are tailored to the age of the children and are timetabled most weeks during the holidays. A wide array of sports and games are planned from rounders, Unihoc and football to gymnastics and orienteering.
Holiday Club is all about your child having fun during their holidays. As all children enjoy doing different things, we try and give them as many opportunities as possible to ensure all children are happy and enjoy their time with us.
It is important for children to structure their own play and therefore we encourage the children to initiate and direct their own activities and support them in this. However we are on hand to make sure this happens in a safe and positive way.
